HaMasger Street

HaMasger Street (Hebrew: רחוב המסגר) is a famous street in Tel Aviv, Israel.
HaMasger Street is a reference to the profession of the locksmith, alluding to the thoroughfare's many handyman and other blue collar businesses. Outlining Montefiore on the western side, at the south - western resides in "the neighborhood of the train" so named because of its proximity to the railway from Jaffa to Jerusalem, a large part has become a neglected area of small workshops and garages. This street parallels to the Ayalon Freeway.
Before the establishment of Tel Aviv, there was a dirt road along the street. In the mid-19th century southern neighbor through this farm was established by American Protestants and known as "Mount Hope". The road led through the fields north towards "Montefiore orchard" and Sarona Templer colony. The orchard and Montefiore established the farm area up in the '40s high school praise masterpieces, works there today.

With the development of the city, even before the founding of the State Street area developed into a regional framework of the city's main industry. Various factories were established and mostly small workshops and garages. Between the industrial buildings also rose with age many nightclubs and restaurants, and those characteristics of the street and its surroundings (especially in the Yad industrious bordering on the street) are also currently present. On the street are also many showrooms and vehicle importers' offices of companies in the automotive industry: car rental companies, importers of parts and the like.

In the late 1970s the character of the street began to change and the process continues still with the turning of workshops and garages to lots populated primarily by office buildings.
